Melbourne, Australia. El campeón defensor del Abierto de Australia, Roger Federer, comenzó el martes con gran estilo su participación en el primer Grand Slam de la temporada.

El suizo de 36 años dio muestras de su clase en la abarrotada pista del Rod Laver Arena en Melbourne, con una exhibición de 41 golpes ganadores ante el esloveno Aljaz Bedene, que cayó derrotado por 6-3, 6-4 y 6-3.

“Espero tener otro buen año”, afirmó Federer, que ganó también Wimbledon por octava vez en 2017. “No estoy seguro de que me vaya a ir tan bien, porque soy un año mayor, Rafa (Nadal) parece estar en una forma excelente y hay otros chicos de vuelta”, agregó.
